... as in the complete opposite of LAMENTATION!!! Because my last post was not meant to come across as a grim, grieving tribute to the passing seasons. Rather, 'twas merely an observer's record of change all around us. True, it seems that everywhere I turn lately somebody is talking about "time getting away" or how much things are changing due to the economy or worldwide discontent or other global phenomenon. Or at a personal level how relationships and people in general are going through one thing or another. Or in the visible, poignant ways implied in the turning, falling and blowing of the leaves...
See, what I was trying to express was a recognition - at last - in these later years (25 years out of high school means what, exactly???) that change, adaptatation, evolution, correction, adjustment or alteration of who we are means we are ALIVE!! Alive and kickin'!!! I love seeing the trail behind me and the horizon ahead -- because that's how I know that God is actively, visibly and consistently with me. Guiding, facilitating, even imposing those corrections and adjustments in me and my course. Christ leads, and I am learning more every day on how to follow.

Time Marches On
I'm astounded that everywhere I go and at everything I look back on, time truly does fly by. Both of my "baby girls" are now in college, I am at that age now where I can remember my parents being, and the seasons seem to turn faster than the pages on the calendar. I guess even the "pages on the calendar" is a relative, time-gone-by statement in itself. Does anybody really turn the page on a calendar nowadays?
The news today, though riddled with the healthcare debate and the news of good GDP growth for once in a good while, also made mention of the almost-year that has passed since the Obama election last November. "Good gosh," I thought, it *is* almost November already and again!!!
Daylight savings time ends in just a few days... even that seems like it has rolled around faster than possible. The leaves are turning and falling, and yet it seems that Spring Fever was rampant only the week before last....
